These bunnies are not too hard to do because they are all in one color. The most difficult part are the ears. I used some Nilla Wafers and cut them in half. Then I carved out a little more to make the bunny ear shape. The body, of course, is Nutter Butter and he tail is a mini marshmallow (cut in half)
So, melt your white chocolate in a bowl for 1 minute, stir and microwave another 15-30 seconds. Stir to make sure there are no solid pieces. Dust off your Nutter Butter cookies with a brush or paper towel. This will help keep your chocolate clean. Take a little of your melted chocolate and put in a Ziplock bag to use later to put on the ears and tail. Using a fork dip your cookie in the white chocolate, tap the fork on the side of the bowl to remove any excess chocolate and place on wax paper. Continue to do this with the rest of your cookies.
Get your Nilla Wafers and gently saw in half. I use a steak knife that works just great. Take one of your halves and carve out some of the inside to make a curve for the ear. Saw off a little bit of one end of the ears so they fit against the body a little better. Make sure you make left ears/right ears. Continue to do this with the rest of your wafers to have enough ears for all your cookies. Dust off any crumbs and dip the wafer in your white chocolate, tapping the fork on the side of the bowl to remove any excess chocolate.
When your bunny bodies and ears have set take the white chocolate you put in the Ziplock bag and remelt if it has hardened. Microwave the bag for about 30 seconds. Remove and knead the bag to blend the chocolate and make sure there are no solid pieces. You may need to put the bag in the microwave for another 15 seconds to have everything completely melted. Pinch flat one of the corners of the bag and cut a small tip of the corner. It’s better to start out with a tiny hole and cut more if it’s not enough. Squeeze some of the white chocolate at one end of the body and push the flat part of the wafer ear to the cookie. Do this for both ears. Continue to do this for the rest of your bunny ears. Let set.
Get your mini marshmallows and cut in half. I take a toothpick and stick in the marshmallow half to make it easier to dip in the white chocolate. You may have to use another toothpick to help remove it from the other toothpick. Dip the marshmallow half in the white chocolate and gently shake off any excess chocolate. Don’t shake too hard or it’ll come off the toothpick and fall back in the bowl. I like to take the marshmallow at this point and sprinkle with shredded coconut or sugar sprinkles, place on my wax paper then apply to the body later with a dot of white chocolate. You can, also, put it right on the cookie right after dipping then sprinkle with the coconut or sprinkles. Either way is fine. That’s it!!
A couple of other fun things to do is to add a little red melting chocolate to your white chocolate to make pink . You can also buy pastel chocolates and make your bunnies in Spring colors!! If you want real fluffy bunnies, after dipping your Nutter Butter in your melted chocolate, place on wax paper then sprinkle with shredded coconut then add the tail.
